Year-round platform + continuous member networking
International research programme sustained three years of global stakeholder engagement on one platform
The One Food programme needed a central hub to connect government partners and researchers across the UK, South Africa, and beyond. A continuous digital platform hosted in person events, virtual forums, on-demand content, and a secure document library, sustaining steady engagement over three years.

Challenge
The One Food programme needed a digital environment to unite cross-disciplinary researchers and government stakeholders internationally. The initiative required a secure, accessible space to stream virtual forums, share critical research outputs such as the One Food Risk Tool, and foster peer-to-peer networking outside of scheduled live events.
Approach
- Launched a continuous community platform with direct member networking tools and a comprehensive research library.
- Streamed the November 2023 Community Forum and the 2024 Risk Tool Workshop, immediately transitioning each session into an on-demand video archive.
- Distributed targeted email campaigns to highlight new research, upcoming workshops, and recorded sessions.
Result
- Grew platform membership steadily from 86 initial attendees in November 2022 to 291 registered members by March 2025.
- Facilitated extensive peer-to-peer networking, with 58% of active members making new connections during peak event months.
- Hosted over 40 distinct research documents and achieved 1,091 combined video views across community forum recordings and partner interviews.
