Interactive engagement launches community
Government event connected an international audience
The Maritime IWT Conference achieved lasting global impact by utilising dynamic facilitated collaborative sessions and anonymous interactive tools.
Challenge
When the Maritime Illegal Wildlife Trade (IWT) Conference was suddenly moved from November 2024 to February 2025, the challenge wasn't just content, speaker prep and logistics - it was delivering a critical, impactful, and lasting global collaboration on a compressed timeline. Our solution centered on a highly structured, collaborative planning process for the 3-day, 125-person event with 25 exhibitors, integrating dynamic session formats like breakout groups and parallel work streams to ensure every voice was heard. A key driver of success was the implementation of our digital platforms, used not only for real-time, anonymous interaction and networking, but critically, transitioned into a six-month Post-event Community.
Approach
- Designed an agenda to deliver the client's objectives for knowledge sharing and interaction.
- Facilitated session delivery with clear audience interaction points.
- Organised post-event content and follow-up touch points for ongoing access.
Result
- A custom event app created a more connected experience.
- Participants co-created the "IWT Mandate for Marine Species" report.
- 702 connections made through the platform (6.3 contacts per participant)
- Session videos made available on demand creating value after the live dates.
Testimonial
“There are so many insights I could consider in developing projects in Indonesia. Moreover, the technology increased participant engagement, especially in ASEAN countries where people are often more reserved.”
